When Ashley, the founder of Birthsmarter, contacted me, her business was already a reference in the industry. Through her virtual and in-person classes, she guides parents of different backgrounds, races, and genders through the birthing process, postpartum care, and newborn care, providing them with support, information, and confidence during this transformative stage.
From the very beginning, working with her has been a rewarding experience. Birthsmarter not only offers education but also provides love and understanding to families preparing to welcome a baby, whether for the first time or after previous challenging experiences.
As a Virtual Assistant in Graphic Design, my role in her business has focused on improving the organization and presentation of her educational materials. Until then, Ashley had been using a program that wasn't well-suited for creating her guides, which made the process more difficult over time.
My work consisted of:

Reorganization and Guide Editing – We refined and optimized the documents Ashley already had, ensuring they were more accessible, easier to update, and print-ready.

Creation and design of new materials – We developed two Resource Guides from scratch, specialized directories with key information about professionals and services related to maternal wellness, baby care, medical professionals, and other health experts. These guides were distributed for free in New York and Salt Lake City, helping families access essential resources during pregnancy and postpartum stage.
Working on this project has not only been a design and organizational challenge but also an opportunity to contribute, in some way, to Birthsmarter's mission: making sure every family feels supported and prepared on their journey to parenthood.
